The Beginning…

While living near Philadelphia, PA in the late 80′s, Steve Furniss, President of TranWare, Inc. was introduced to Brian Somerman, owner of Philadelphia Yellow Cab. Brian was looking to develop a PC based dispatch, cashiering and accounting system for taxi and Para transit companies. At the time, most management systems were only available on expensive mini-computers which only the largest transportation companies could afford. Steve had been developing computer programs since the late 70′s and had a lot of experience with business application development.  For a period of about 4 years, Steve worked with Brian both as an employee and a subcontractor to provide development, installation and training.

Tranware Inc.

Upon relocating to Clearwater, FL in the fall of 1994, Steve and his father Jim Furniss founded TranWare, Inc., a software development company focused exclusively on the ground transportation industry.

Today, Tranware Enterprise dispatch solutions are in widespread use throughout the US and Canada, representing over 15,000 vehicles. Extensive industry experience, coupled with maintaining close relationships with their customers has allowed TranWare to refine their products to meet the evolving needs of the industries and customers they serve.

In 2000, after 3 years of intensive development and testing, TranWare released the Windows 32 bit version of TranWare Enterprise that set a new benchmark for affordable, turnkey business management and dispatch. This system provides powerful back-office functionality that empowers front-line workers by putting business-critical information at their fingertips. Functionality that belies the reasonable price, to provide a very fast return on investment for business owners of even small transportation and service companies.

Future Quest Wireless Inc.

World-wide distribution and support of WinLimo is the responsibility of Future Quest Wireless, Inc., specialists in dispatch and tracking solutions to the transportation industry. In addition to WinLimo, Future Quest provides turnkey sales, implementation and support of the entire TranWare Enterprise suite of transportation dispatch systems for the taxi, black car, limousine and paratransit markets, as well as GPS tracking solutions. Future Quest maintains over 300 system installations throughout North America. In 2008, Future Quest released TranWare Desktop, a rental version of TranWare that substantially lowered the entry barriers for small to medium sized fleet operators. Furthering on its success, the TranWare Lite and WinLimo versions of the TranWare Enterprise suite were released in 2010. Each of these distinct versions share a common user interface, database design and development heritage, such that together, they represent the industry’s broadest range of capabilities and the very best customer value available.
